Andrew White

Andrew White

Andrew White is a global institutional / U.S. entrepreneurial hedge fund investor. He had a material role turning around a $400 billion AUM fund at UBS in the early 2000s as well as thereafter producing recognized absolute returns using limited leverage. Of note, he was the senior equity analyst at UBS covering U.S. / global financials, including banks, insurers, and asset managers in America, Europe, and Japan. Insight is built on the overlooked rather than listening to the crowd. An affable person, Andrew listens and explains the quantitative / complex in straightforward terms. He is an Eagle Scout and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Classical Liberal Arts, Master’s degree in Economics, and the CFA designation. Andrew also focuses on writing articles / books and speaking.

Karen Sterling

Karen Sterling

Karen Sterling, PhD, CFA, has had a twenty-year career at the intersection of healthcare, biotechnology, and finance. Concurrent to joining Emerging Growth Research, Dr. Sterling also works as a Senior and Supervisory Research Analyst at Kingswood Capital Partners where she has been since 2023. Prior to that, she was Managing Director of Healthcare Investment Banking at Avalon Net Worth, where she practiced strategic advisory, fundraising, and filled transitional C Suite roles for clients.

Dr. Sterling took a 17-month sabbatical from Avalon in 2014-2015 to serve as President & CEO of the New York Society of Security Analysts (nka CFA Society New York), where she orchestrated a financial and operational turnaround of the organization, enhancing its status as a leading finance education forum.

Dr. Sterling holds two Masters degrees and a PhD degree from Columbia University in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics and earned her CFA Charter in 2006. She maintains FINRA Series 7, 16, 63, 79, 86, and 87 registrations.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams has over 20 years of experience evaluating and providing financial solutions to healthcare companies spanning the breadth of the Healthcare Industry, with specific engagements in Biotechnology, Health Care Information Technology, Equipment and Devices, Providers and Services, and Pharmaceuticals. Engagements include Public as well as Private Equity backed transactions including equity investments, senior and subordinated debt capital provisions, and derivative hedging solutions. Before joining Emerging Growth as a Senior Equity Research Analyst, Mark has held positions at top financial institutions with responsibilities that include the launch of multiple Healthcare Verticals focused on providing Investment and Banking solutions to clients of all sizes engaged in the healthcare industry. Mark attended the Raymond A. Mason Graduate School of Business earning a Master’s in Business Administration. He is a current member of the CFA Institute® and holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Ryan Long

Ryan Long

Ryan is a widely respected junior mining commentator and investor. Ryan has over 18 years of experience in the mining and exploration sector. He has a strong technical background in geology, having worked on exploration and mining stage projects with leading mining companies such as Barrick Gold, Anglo American, and Xstrata. He also has extensive knowledge and expertise in equity research analysis, having previously held roles with Edison Group and Northland Capital Partners. He has published multiple scientific papers in international journals, holds a PhD in Economic Geology, and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London.

Alison Wolf

Alison Wolf

Alison is a professional researcher with extensive experience covering global industrial and healthcare industries. In her market reporting, Alison is responsible for all aspects of qualitative and quantitative data including financial modeling and forecasting, multivariate analysis and interpretation, competitive landscape, and data visualization. She believes in presenting the “story” and the “why” behind a perspective. Alison has formalized her quantitative credentials throughout education and professional responsibilities. She earned an MBA in Finance, the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, a Certified Internal Auditor designation, and a Data Analytics Certificate and is a Public Notary (Ohio). Alison is also an active Red Cross volunteer and marathon runner.
